CAMBRIDGE, Ohio (AVC News) — The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has selected David Thompson as the new park manager of Salt Fork State Park.
Thompson brings nearly three decades of state park experience to the position, having been part of the Salt Fork team since 1997. He began his career as a seasonal employee and worked his way through campground and maintenance operations.
Since 2017, Thompson has served as Salt Fork’s assistant manager.
A lifelong local resident, Thompson is a 1995 graduate of Buckeye Trail High School and a 1999 graduate of Muskingum University.
ODNR officials said Thompson’s skills, knowledge and extensive experience at Salt Fork make him well suited for the leadership position.
Thompson officially began serving as park manager Aug. 24.
The position became available after Adam Sikora, Salt Fork’s previous park manager, was selected to serve as district manager overseeing all state parks in Ohio’s East District.
