NOBLE COUNTY, Ohio (AVC News) — The Noble Local School District began the 2026-27 school year Sept. 8 with the addition to Shenandoah High School now in use.
Superintendent Justin Denius told the Noble Local Board of Education during its Sept. 17 meeting that the district had received positive feedback about the start of the school year.
The new addition includes eight classrooms for seventh- and eighth-grade students, a medical center and administrative offices. The seventh- and eighth-grade students now have their own section within the high school, while the additional space has provided more room for students in kindergarten through sixth grade at the elementary school.
Denius said the medical center is expected to open around Oct. 1. Shenandoah High School graduates Dr. Clayton Spencer and Jacob Biedenbach will be among the staff, with Memorial Services of Marietta providing overall supervision.
The board also approved an agreement designating McKinley Architecture and Engineering as owner representatives for future projects.
AJB Engineering and Energy Optimizers were approved as general contractors for Phase Ten renovations at both schools. The district expects those projects to be the final renovations at the schools.

The board approved a Shenandoah FFA trip to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis from Oct. 21-24 and an eighth-grade trip to Washington, D.C., from May 4-6.
Rissa Eddy was awarded a one-year certified contract as a high school consumer science teacher.
The board also approved the retirement/resignation of Julie Moore as EMIS coordinator and maternity leave for B. Barker.
Added to the district’s substitute lists were Ryan Rusnak, Dakota Rahman and Candy Hathaway as teachers; Kenneth “Danny” Hickman as a food service employee; and Like Archer as a bus driver.
