St. Clairsville Man Charged With Rape, Gross Sexual Imposition In Noble County

CALDWELL, Ohio (AVC News) — A St. Clairsville man has been charged with rape and gross sexual imposition following a reported sexual assault at a Noble County residence in late September.

Noble County Sheriff Jason Mackie said charges were filed against 30-year-old John Pyles Jr. of St. Clairsville. Pyles faces one count of rape, a first-degree felony, and one count of gross sexual imposition, a fourth-degree felony.

Pyles was arrested on warrants for the charges Oct. 1 and booked into the Noble County Jail. His initial bond was set at $200,000 with no 10% provision.

At an Oct. 5 arraignment, Pyles was released on ankle monitoring and ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim.

Pyles is scheduled to appear for his next hearing at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 26.

The charges are allegations, and Pyles is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
