NEWARK, Ohio (AVC News) — A Licking County jury found Nicholas D. Wolfe guilty on all five counts in a case involving allegations that he beat, punched and dragged a victim before being stopped by a 911 caller and Newark police officers.
According to the Licking County Prosecutor’s Office, a grand jury indicted Wolfe June 4 on one count of kidnapping, a first-degree felony; two counts of abduction, third-degree felonies; and first-degree misdemeanor counts of domestic violence and assault.
The case went to a two-day jury trial that concluded Aug. 27. The jury returned guilty verdicts on all counts as charged in the indictment.
Following the verdict, Judge Marcelain revoked Wolfe’s bond and ordered him to remain in the Licking County Justice Center while a pre-sentence investigation is completed.
Wolfe is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 2 at 8:45 a.m. in Marcelain’s courtroom. He faces a maximum indefinite prison sentence ranging from 11 to 16 1/2 years.
The case was prosecuted by First Assistant County Prosecutor Clifford Murphy.
