SOUTHEAST, Ohio (AVC News) — Nonprofits, schools and public organizations in Guernsey and Monroe counties can now apply for grant funding through their local community foundations to support projects that strengthen their communities.
The Guernsey County Foundation, in partnership with the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO), is accepting applications for grants supporting projects in arts and culture, community and economic development, education, environmental stewardship, and health and human services.
Grant requests between $500 and $10,000 are encouraged, although larger requests may be considered based on a project’s potential impact. Applications must be submitted online by Tuesday, Sept. 8.
The Guernsey County Foundation awarded nearly $100,000 in 2025 to support 25 projects and programs throughout the county.
Meanwhile, the Monroe County Community Foundation, also in partnership with FAO, is accepting applications for similar community projects benefiting Monroe County.
Monroe County grants generally range from $500 to $5,000, with larger requests also considered. In addition to its regular grant funding, the foundation will award money from the John and Lois Baker Education and Economic Development Fund for projects focused on education and economic development.
Last year, the Monroe County Community Foundation awarded nearly $45,000 to support 14 local projects and programs.
The Noble County Community Foundation, also an FAO affiliate, is accepting applications for projects benefiting Noble County residents.
Like Monroe County, Noble County grant requests typically range from $500 to $5,000, with larger requests considered based on potential community impact. In 2025, the Noble County Community Foundation awarded nearly $30,000 to support 14 projects and programs across the county.
Officials with all three foundations said the grants are intended to support organizations and individuals creating opportunities, addressing community needs and improving quality of life through projects involving arts and culture, community and economic development, education, environmental stewardship, and health and human services.
Applications for all three grant programs are due Sept. 8 and must be submitted online through the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio. More information and application materials are available on the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio website.
