COLUMBUS, Ohio (AVC News) — Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has authorized the use of the State Disaster Relief Program to help 13 counties recover from severe storms that struck the state March 11-16.
The counties approved for assistance are Belmont, Carroll, Coshocton, Guernsey, Harrison, Holmes, Knox, Licking, Morrow, Noble, Perry, Tuscarawas, and Van Wert.
The State Disaster Relief Program provides reimbursement to local governments and eligible nonprofit organizations when storm damage does not qualify for federal disaster assistance but meets state eligibility requirements.
Funding can be used for eligible costs related to debris removal, emergency protective measures, and repairs to storm-damaged infrastructure.
Governor DeWine’s authorization allows the Ohio Emergency Management Agency to seek funding through the Ohio Controlling Board to support recovery efforts in the affected counties.
