BARNESVILLE, Ohio (AVC News) — The Barnesville Area Chamber of Commerce has named longtime community member and educator Denise Adkins Leach as its new chamber director.
Leach, a Barnesville native, brings more than three decades of experience in education, mentoring and community organizing to the position.
She previously worked with Barnesville Schools and is the owner of Coastal Core Compass LLC, giving her experience in both education and entrepreneurship.
Leach has also been involved in several community initiatives, including serving as board president and organizer of the annual Cutting Class for a Cure fundraiser. Organizers say the event has involved more than 100 volunteers and hundreds of students, school employees and community members.
Her background also includes training in instructional technology, strategic planning, budget management and public relations.
“I am incredibly excited to begin this new chapter focused on community and economic development,” Leach said. “A successful Chamber of Commerce depends on strong partnerships, engaged members, and a shared vision.”
The Barnesville Area Chamber represents nearly 300 business members in Barnesville and surrounding communities.
Chamber officials say Leach will focus on strengthening partnerships, supporting local businesses and promoting economic development throughout the region.
