OLD WASHINGTON, Ohio (AVC News) — The Paul Bunyan Show will return to the Guernsey County Fairgrounds Oct. 2-4 as the forestry industry exposition celebrates its 20th year at the Old Washington facility.
Organizers say advance tickets are now on sale, with advance sales ending before the show. The event features forestry equipment, demonstrations, training and lumberjack competitions.
About 170 exhibitors are expected to showcase products at the fairgrounds, with many offering live equipment demonstrations.
The three-day event will include the Great Lakes Timber Show, lumberjack competitions and educational sessions for landowners. Training opportunities will also be available, including chainsaw safety, cutting and felling techniques, technical tree climbing, aerial cutting and hazard cutting.
A wood auction is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Sunday, giving the public an opportunity to purchase firewood, sawn lumber and other wood products.
The Paul Bunyan Show was first held in 1957 and is organized by the Ohio Forestry Association. The association says the event highlights Ohio’s forest products industry and provides opportunities for businesses and the public to learn about forestry.
