LANCASTER, Ohio — Adena Health has completed its acquisition of Fairfield Medical Center, officially bringing the hospital, its patients, providers and caregivers into the Adena Health system.
The hospital will now be known as Adena Fairfield Medical Center. Adena officials said the organizations share a commitment to expanding access to quality health care, particularly in rural communities where local access to medical services is important.
“Today is a significant day in the more than 130-year history of Adena Health, as we welcome Adena Fairfield Medical Center,” Adena President and CEO Kathi Edrington said. “Our mission calls us to serve our communities, and we believe the people who live and work in this region deserve access to high-quality care they can trust, close to home.”
Adena said Adena Fairfield Medical Center will continue providing care to the patients and communities it has served. The organizations will work through the transition with a focus on maintaining continuity of care and minimizing disruptions for patients and staff.
The acquisition follows a letter of intent announced June 1, 2026. Since then, the organizations’ boards, leadership teams, providers and staff have worked through the due diligence process leading to the completion of the acquisition.
