COLUMBUS, Ohio — Applications are now open for Ohio’s Brownfield Remediation Program, with about 120 million dollars available.
The program provides grants to help communities clean up and redevelop contaminated industrial, commercial and institutional properties.
State Representative Adam Holmes says the program can help local leaders reinvest in communities, support business development and create new economic opportunities.
Ohio’s state operating budget allocated 200 million dollars to the program over the current two-year budget cycle. Since 2021, the program has supported more than 900 projects in 87 counties, awarding nearly 800 million dollars.
Eligible applicants include counties, townships, municipalities, port authorities, park districts and county land reutilization corporations, among others.
Applications for the current funding cycle are now open through the Ohio Department of Development.
