Student Art Awards at 56th Salt Fork Festival

CAMBRIDGE, Ohio (AVC News) — More than 700 pieces of artwork created by area students were featured during the Marie and Chris Lekorenos Student Art Show at the 56th Salt Fork Festival.

Approximately 75 awards were presented to students participating in the show, which gives young artists an opportunity to showcase their work as part of the annual festival.

Leslie Stevens of Meadowbrook High School received first place in the Grades 9-12 category. Stevens also received two major honors: the Marie and Chris Lekorenos Outstanding Student Art Award, recognizing Best of Show, and the Kathy Jeanne Milligan Award.

Festival organizers said they are proud to have area students participate and hope the experience encourages them to continue pursuing an interest in art throughout their lives.
