CAMBRIDGE, Ohio (AVC News) — Republican Ohio gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy met with local leaders, business owners, residents and supporters Wednesday afternoon during a well-attended drop-in event at Midtown Market in downtown Cambridge.
The Aug. 26 event was coordinated by State Rep. Ty Moore, R-Caldwell, who introduced Ramaswamy and praised Midtown Market owners Justin and Lisa Brown and Aaron and Kelsey Neff for hosting the event.
Ramaswamy spoke about issues important to his campaign, including his goals for Ohio and his vision for the state if elected governor. He also discussed the role of communities such as Cambridge and Guernsey County in Ohio’s future.
Following his remarks, Ramaswamy spent about 20 minutes answering questions from audience members about his ideas, plans and positions on local and state issues.
Among those attending were Noble County Commissioner Brian Carter, Guernsey County Commissioners Dave Wilson and Jack Marlin, Guernsey County Sheriff Jeff Paden, Caldwell Exempted Village School District Superintendent Ryan Lemley and Cambridge Mayor Tom Orr.
The event was held at Midtown Market as the new downtown Cambridge entertainment and community venue continues preparations for its opening. The facility will feature food and drinks, duckpin bowling, arcade entertainment, Tootsie Next Gen and space for community events and gatherings.
An opening date for Midtown Market has not yet been announced.
Ramaswamy is seeking the Republican nomination for governor in the 2026 election.
