CAMBRIDGE, Ohio (AVC News) — Cambridge High School’s 2026 Homecoming Week will begin Sunday, Sept. 20, with the annual parade and pep rally and conclude with the Homecoming Dance on Saturday, Sept. 26.
This year’s Homecoming theme is “A Night of Illumination.”
The parade will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday from the St. Benedict’s School parking lot. It will travel east on Steubenville Avenue before turning onto 10th Street, continuing to Clairmont Avenue and entering McFarland Stadium.
The parade will feature class floats, athletic teams, cheerleaders and the Cambridge High School marching band. Classmates, parents and community members are invited to attend.
Once the parade reaches the stadium, the Homecoming Court will be introduced, followed by band and cheerleader performances and several class games.
The 2026 Homecoming Court includes senior king candidates Tre’Vaughn Alexander, Steele Britton, Camdyn Lauer, Loukas Laughman, Connor Parsons and Quentin Stora. Senior queen candidates are Olivia Adams, Mya Alexander, Bailey Anderson, Jani Cramblett, Kensley Hollins and Madelyn Phillips.
Six candidates were selected in each category this year because of a tie in the selection process, rather than the usual five.
Students will vote for the Homecoming king and queen after viewing campaign videos created by the candidates.
Throughout the week, students will participate in a hallway decorating contest, scavenger hunt and daily dress-up themes based on the “A Night of Illumination” theme.
Monday will be Lorax Scarf and Sweater Day, followed by Minion Day on Tuesday. Wednesday will be Super Mario Brothers Twin Day, and Thursday will be The Secret Life of Pets Animal Print Day.
Friday will be Class Colors Day, with seniors wearing black, juniors wearing blue, sophomores wearing gray and freshmen wearing white.
The traditional Homecoming Pep Rally Assembly will be held Friday afternoon.
The Homecoming football game against East Liverpool will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at McFarland Stadium. The Homecoming Court will be introduced and the 2026 Homecoming king and queen will be crowned beginning at 6:20 p.m.
Homecoming Week will conclude Saturday with the Homecoming Dance from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Cambridge High School cafeteria.
