CALDWELL, Ohio (AVC News) — A Noble County man has been taken into custody after authorities say he failed to meet registration requirements as a Tier II sex offender.
Noble County Sheriff Jason Mackie reported Tuesday, July 28, that Robert Boylen was arrested on a warrant for failing to register a change of residence address.
According to the sheriff’s office, Boylen was convicted in Noble County Common Pleas Court following an August 2021 incident involving unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and corrupting another with drugs.
The court classified Boylen as a Tier II sex offender, requiring him to complete 25 years of registration and reporting requirements. Those requirements include notifying authorities of any change of address.
A recent investigation by the Noble County Sheriff’s Office determined Boylen had been living at a residence in Guernsey County for an extended period of time and had not notified the sheriff’s office of the change, according to authorities.
A warrant was issued for failure to provide notice of a change of residence address, a third-degree felony, and was later served.
Authorities said the alleged violation also violated Boylen’s parole through the Ohio Adult Parole Authority. He is expected to face additional consequences related to the parole violation.
