LORE CITY, Ohio (AVC News) — Buckeye Trail Elementary School is changing its traditional open house format this year, replacing it with a new Orientation Night designed to give families more information about the upcoming school year.
The event for kindergarten through fifth grade students will be held Wednesday, Aug. 12. Parents and guardians can choose from five identical teacher-led sessions scheduled at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m., and 5 p.m., with each session lasting about 45 minutes.
School officials said the change was made in response to parent feedback gathered through surveys last year. Teachers will share important grade-level expectations and other information families need to know, followed by time for questions.
Community partners will also be on hand during the event.
School officials ask families to be mindful of session times so teachers have an opportunity to prepare for the next group. They say the new format is intended to better equip parents and guardians to support their children’s learning throughout the school year.
