Carlos W. Tucker, 87 of Sarahsville, Ohio

Carlos W. Tucker, age 87, of Sarahsville, Ohio, entered God’s loving arms on August 21, 2026. He was born August 5, 1939, in East Union, son of the late Kenneth and Rosa Ayers Tucker. Carlos was married to the love of his life, Barbara Merry, for almost 65 years. He was a 1957 graduate of Summerfield High School and a member of the Berne Muddobbers basketball team. In his early years, he hauled household coal to many people from the Fleet VanFossen mine. He was employed by Clevite Glacier Vandervell following 35 years of service, where he worked as a forklift operator in shipping and receiving and loading and unloading trucks with raw and finished material. Carlos was a member of the United Steel Workers Union of America #4836. He was a hard worker, sometimes having side jobs in addition to his regular job. He was a member of St. Mary’s of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulda.

Carlos found delight in making decorative craft items such as yard bears, Uncle Sams, and bird houses for others. When grandchildren needed assistance with woodworking projects, they knew he was a short drive away. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, mowing, and he especially enjoyed sitting on his porch swing and watching the birds. Carlos was a thirty-three year cancer survivor who was a neck breather. Despite his obstacles, he chose to continue some of the many activities he enjoyed, such as showing his 1940 Chevy Coupe in parades. He had generous soul and loved his family and his beagle, Blue.

He is preceded in death by an infant son, William Allen Tucker; one sister, Elsie Pride; and four brothers, Raymond, Clyde, Clarence, and Delbert Tucker.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Barbara Merry Tucker, whom he married October 8, 1961; three sons, Philip (Tina) Tucker and Melvin (Janae) Tucker, all of Sarahsville and Scott (Vickie) Tucker of Summerfield; one daughter, Angie (Sam) Schneeberger of Pleasant City; his grandchildren, Heather (Sean) Piskula, Kim (Travis) Gibson, Rose (Ty) Kincaid, Kyla (Andrew) Myers, Dalton, Dylan and Dallas Carpenter, Jase and Josiah Norman, Nicole (Will) Kern, Sara Canter, and Samuel, Kacy, Jazz and Jaide Schneeberger; great-grandchildren, Lilyanne, Izabella and Adreanne Piskula, Marcus and Reis Gibson, Corbin Kincaid; Karla, Ryder, Nash and Kimber Myers, Avery Holmes, Kaylee and Hunter Kern and Braelynne Harris; brother and sister-in law, Bill (Janet) Merry, sisters-in-law Betty Merry and Bertha Tucker; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Friends may call Monday, August 24, 2026, from 9-11AM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 11AM with Fr. Thomas Nau officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery.
