ZANESVILLE, Ohio (AVC News) — A 72-year-old Blue Rock woman was killed Monday afternoon in a head-on crash on State Route 60 in Muskingum County, and the other driver was arrested on suspicion of operating a vehicle while impaired.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash occurred near mile marker 10 in Wayne Township.

Troopers said Linda Work, 72, was driving a vehicle northbound when a southbound vehicle, driven by 50-year-old Ruth McCollister of Blue Rock, crossed the centerline and struck the Buick head-on.

After the collision, Work’s vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

McCollister and a juvenile passenger suffered minor injuries and were not transported by EMS.

The crash remains under investigation.
