UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio (AVC News) — A 64-year-old Dennison man was killed Tuesday evening in a single-vehicle crash in Tuscarawas County.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Jeffrey R. Cottrell was driving a truck southwest on Midvale Mine Road, also known as County Road 67, near Canary Road when the truck went off the right side of the road and struck a post and a tree.
Cottrell was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Highway Patrol said Cottrell was not wearing a seat belt and alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by Smith Ambulance, Sherrodsville Fire Department, the Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office, Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office and Chad’s Towing.
The crash remains under investigation.
