BYESVILLE, Ohio (AVC News) — Byesville Fire and EMS responded Thursday to a commercial fire involving crews from Guernsey, Muskingum and Noble counties.
The fire was reported at 12:07 p.m. after callers reported smoke in the area. Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke and flames coming from a lower conveyor belt. Additional resources were requested before crews arrived, and an initial attack was established using aerial operations and direct suppression efforts on the conveyor belt.
Fireground operations were adjusted several times throughout the incident as crews worked to contain the fire. The incident concluded at approximately 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Two minor, heat-related injuries were reported. Byesville Fire and EMS thanked the firefighters and emergency personnel who provided mutual aid, as well as those who assisted with fireground operations, the fill station and the dispatch center.
