SENECAVILLE, Ohio (AVC News) — A Senecaville man wanted in Monroe County on multiple felony sex offense charges involving a child has been arrested.
The Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office was notified around 4 p.m. Sept. 3 that an active arrest warrant had been issued for 40-year-old Jeremiah Scherer.
The warrant, which carried a nationwide pickup radius, includes multiple counts of rape and gross sexual imposition involving a child.
Deputies used the sheriff’s office FLOCK camera system to determine that a vehicle registered to Scherer had traveled into Guernsey County around 2 p.m.
Deputies then went to Scherer’s known residence in Senecaville, where they found the vehicle parked behind the home. Deputies observed Scherer sitting on the ground behind the vehicle and took him into custody without incident.
During the arrest, deputies found a loaded handgun on Scherer. The firearm was seized as evidence.
Scherer was taken to the Guernsey County Jail, where he was booked and held on the Monroe County warrant.
