CAMBRIDGE, Ohio (AVC News) — The City of Cambridge is asking residents to provide input as it develops a new Active Transportation Plan focused on improving walking and bicycling opportunities throughout the community.
The plan will examine existing conditions, gather input from residents and stakeholders, and identify potential projects and actions to improve non-motorized transportation in Cambridge.
The city is currently collecting public input as part of the first phase of the planning process. Residents can participate in an online survey by scanning the QR code included in the city’s outreach materials.
City representatives also will be available in person Friday, Aug. 14, during the Salt Fork Arts and Crafts Festival. A city information table will be set up at the festival from noon to 3 p.m. for residents who would like to discuss the plan or provide feedback directly.
According to the city’s proposed timeline, data collection and existing-conditions analysis will take place during summer 2026, followed by stakeholder engagement and development of a project list and action plan in the fall.
The project list and action plan will be further developed in late fall, with completion of the Active Transportation Plan expected in November.
The plan is being developed by the City of Cambridge in partnership with the Ohio Department of Transportation and is intended to help improve the ability of residents to walk, bicycle and use other non-motorized forms of transportation to get around the community.
