HOCKING HILLS, Ohio (AVC News) — Construction is set to begin this summer on Ohio’s first mountain coaster, bringing a new attraction to one of the state’s most popular tourist destinations.
The Hocking Hills Mountain Coaster will feature more than 3,000 feet of track winding through the wooded landscape, giving riders a downhill experience while controlling their own speed.
Each coaster cart will be equipped with a camera, allowing visitors to purchase a video of their ride.
The attraction will also include a 5,000-square-foot visitor center featuring ticket sales, a retail store and gift shop. A gem mining station is also planned for children.
Developers expect the Hocking Hills Mountain Coaster to open in spring 2027, adding another outdoor attraction to the region known for its hiking trails, waterfalls and scenic views.
