COLUMBUS, Ohio (AVC News) — The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation will open its next grant cycle on July 9, offering funding to first responders and public safety organizations for lifesaving equipment and prevention education tools.
The quarterly grant program is available to U.S.-based fire departments, EMS agencies, law enforcement organizations, schools involved in emergency preparedness, nonprofits, and other public safety entities.
Organizations may request between $15,000 and $40,000 for eligible equipment purchases. Matching funds are not required, and the foundation does not provide reimbursements for equipment that has already been purchased.
Applications must include a current financial document and an official itemized vendor quote. The foundation accepts a maximum of 600 applications each quarter, and incomplete applications are not reviewed.
Certain items are not eligible for funding, including body cameras, drones and drone accessories, dash cameras, firearms, Tasers, Narcan, police radar equipment, surveillance systems, and refurbished equipment.
Only one application is permitted per organization, and agencies that previously received funding must wait at least three years before applying again.
The Quarter 4 2026 application cycle opens Thursday, July 9, at 10 a.m. Eastern time. Grant award notifications will be emailed before the next application cycle begins.
Foundation officials say the program is intended to strengthen emergency response capabilities and improve community safety through investments in equipment and public education.
