MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio (AVC News) — A Zanesville man was killed early Saturday in a one-vehicle crash in Muskingum County.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers were called to County Road 2 near Plantation Drive in Falls Township at approximately 2:25 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29.
Investigators said a 2021 Mercedes was traveling north on County Road 2 when it traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.
One passenger, 25-year-old Kyler L. Hooper of Zanesville, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Muskingum County Coroner.
The driver, 24-year-old William L. Whyde III of Dresden, and another passenger, 27-year-old Hallie D. Kimble of Nashport, were taken to Genesis Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
