COLUMBUS, Ohio (AVC News) — Governor Mike DeWine is sending additional state resources to Perry, Muskingum and Morgan counties following another round of rainfall.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol, Ohio Department of Transportation and Ohio National Guard are sending personnel and crews to assist local first responders.
The additional rainfall comes as the region continues to recover from severe flooding that has affected the three counties.
Local officials have requested assistance with traffic control, which is being provided by the Highway Patrol.
Officials are also seeking help clearing debris from roadways, bridges, rights of way and other public areas.
Additional state resources will also assist with sandbagging and food distribution.
More rainfall is possible tonight, according to the governor’s office, as communities across southeast Ohio continue responding to the ongoing storm systems.
