NEW LEXINGTON, Ohio (AVC News) — Perry County officials are providing residents with information about ongoing storm debris collection following recent severe weather and flooding.
The Ohio Department of Transportation, Ohio National Guard and local crews have been working this week to remove storm-related debris from communities throughout the county.
What Debris Is Being Collected?
Crews will collect storm-related debris, including vegetation and construction and demolition materials.
Appliances and tires will also be collected, but officials said those items must be separated from other storm-related debris.
Where Should Debris Be Placed?
Residents should place storm debris at the curb at the front of their property for collection.
Residents who need volunteer assistance moving debris can contact Crisis Cleanup at 740-207-2397.
When Will Debris Be Collected?
As of Wednesday, Aug. 19, crews had collected debris in the villages of Crooksville, Corning and Roseville.
The current plan calls for crews to collect storm debris in New Lexington Thursday, Aug. 20.
No specific collection schedule has been finalized beyond Thursday.
What If Debris Has Already Been Collected?
Officials said previously collected areas will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.
