NOBLE COUNTY, Ohio (AVC News) — The Noble County Commissioners recently recognized October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Noble County.

Stephanie Danford and Missy Trisler of the Noble County Family Violence Council will work with Sheriff Jason Mackie and his staff to inform residents about the signs of abuse and give victims a voice.

“Domestic violence is never tolerated,” Danford said. “All survivors are supported. Justice and services should meet victims where they are. Everyone can thrive without fear of abuse.”

In other business, commissioners learned the revitalization project around the Noble County Courthouse is entering its final days.

Nicole Culbertson, Caldwell’s new village administrator, reported after speaking with Dave Dillingham, project manager for Rullin Construction, that the project is expected to be ready for a walkthrough Oct. 9, weather permitting, with completion anticipated Oct. 16.

The substantial completion deadline is Oct. 30.

“Most of the remaining work consists of landscaping,” Culbertson said. “Placement of trees, shrubs and flowers will bring an end to this 3.9 project.”

Sheriff Mackie also told commissioners his department is expected to use nearly all of its budgeted fuel funding because of unexpectedly high fuel prices.
