General Surgeon Joins WVU Medicine Barnesville and Harrison Community Hospitals

BARNESVILLE, Ohio (AVC News) — Board-certified general surgeon John C. Mobley has joined WVU Medicine Barnesville Hospital and WVU Medicine Harrison Community Hospital, bringing more than 30 years of surgical experience to the two facilities.

Mobley has experience treating a wide range of conditions through general and minimally invasive surgery. Hospital officials said his addition will expand local surgical services and give patients more options closer to home.

“We are excited to welcome Dr. Mobley to Barnesville Hospital and Harrison Community Hospital,” said Judy Bruno, president and CEO of both hospitals. “His extensive experience in general surgery will allow us to expand local surgical care and provide our patients with more options close to home.”

Mobley joins WVU Medicine from Caldwell Medical Center in Princeton, Kentucky. He previously worked at hospitals in Kentucky and Ohio, including Wayne HealthCare, where he served as chief of staff and chair of the Department of Surgery.

A native of Columbus, Mobley earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Kentucky and completed his surgical residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati.
