BYESVILLE, Ohio (AVC News) — Firefighters responded to a commercial factory fire early Saturday morning along Southgate Parkway in Byesville after a large amount of smoke was reported in the area.
The name of the factory involved has not been released, and no additional information about the cause of the fire or extent of damage was immediately available.
Byesville Fire and EMS and Cambridge Fire Department were among the first departments to arrive and determined the smoke was coming from a commercial factory.
Additional mutual aid was requested from Cassell Station Volunteer Fire Department, Pleasant City and Senecaville fire departments for additional manpower and tanker support.
An initial attack was conducted and the fire was suppressed. A second response was later initiated after materials at the scene possibly reignited. The same departments returned and the situation was contained.
The Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office, including deputies, its aviation team and dispatchers, also assisted with the response. Guernsey County Emergency Management Agency provided additional resources.
Officials reported one minor injury.
