Clarington Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on State Route 7 in Monroe County

















ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio (AVC News) — A Clarington man was killed Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash on State Route 7 in Monroe County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

According to the patrol, a vehicle driven by Brady Dye, 27, of Lowell, was traveling north on State Route 7 when it traveled left of center and struck a southbound vehicle head-on.

The southbound vehicle was driven by Duff Mahoney, 54, of Clarington.

Mahoney sustained fatal injuries in the crash. Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time, according to the patrol.

The northbound vehicle came to rest in the roadway, while the southbound vehicle came to rest off the right side of the roadway. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

The Monroe County Fire and EMS, Clarington EMS, Sardis Fire, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Monroe County Coroner’s Office and Ohio Department of Transportation assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
