COLUMBUS, Ohio–(AVC News)–The countdown is on to the November Mid Term Elections.
Ohioans will be making their voice heard on a number of important state and federal seats including races for; US House seats and US Senate seats, along with all major state level positions, including: Governor and Lt Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Ohio Treasurer and Auditor, Ohio Senate seats and seats in the Ohio House.
While there are only a few locally contested races, there are a number of county specific levies and other issues up for a vote along with all voters seeing State Issue Three.
This all promises to create a busy November election with a heavy voter turnout. Again this election, there is a need for poll workers.
Sources say ahead of the November election nearly 40,000 poll workers are being trained across Ohio. Reports out of Columbus note that Ohio has committed $1 million for use by Board of Election Offices in Ohio’s 88 counties to assist in the cost of training poll workers. Ohioans are being asked to volunteer time as a poll worker in November.

As a reminder, the deadline to register to vote in the November Election is 9 pm, Monday, October 5, 2026.
While military and overseas absentee voting is already underway, while here in Ohio, early, in-person voting and absentee, voting by mail, begins on Tuesday, October 6, 2026.
The first week of September, Ohio began sending out absentee ballot request forms to registered voters. You can also request an absentee ballot, either online, by mail or in-person from your Board of Elections.
Ohio’s Absentee Ballots will begin being mailed out on October 6.
