MONROE COUNTY, Ohio (AVC News) – A Clarington man is in custody after deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office located him in a two-day search.
On Oct. 26, deputies responded to a domestic violence incident in Clarington. Upon arrival, the suspect, 30-year-old Danzig K. Williams, fled the residence and ran into a wooded area. Deputies deployed a thermal drone and K-9 Odin to help locate Williams, but the initial search was unsuccessful.
On the evening of Oct. 27, deputies received information that Williams was near Brey Hollow Road outside Sardis. While responding to the area, deputies spotted Williams, who again fled on foot into the woods. A thermal drone was deployed, and Williams was located hiding near a roadside ditch. K-9 Odin was then deployed, and Williams surrendered to the dog and responding deputies.
Williams is being held at the Monroe County Jail on charges of violating a temporary protection order, domestic violence and strangulation.
