COLUMBUS, Ohio (AVC News) – TSA announced a new program that will allow certain travelers to access terminal areas without a boarding pass for the first time in 25 years.
The new program, Gateside by TSA PreCheck, will allow people into the airport without a plane ticket, an option that used to be available before the events of 9/11.
Gateside allows TSA PreCheck members to request a free pass to go beyond the TSA checkpoint at participating airports.
Participants can use the program to accompany family members and loved ones to the gate, greet arriving passengers, enjoy airport dining and shopping, or experience the terminal without taking a flight.
Gateside by TSA PreCheck is currently available at 13 of the nation’s airports, including the John Glenn Columbus International Airport.
