Ohio Valley ESC Earns High-Performing Designation for 11th Consecutive Year

ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio (AVC News) — The Ohio Valley Educational Service Center has earned the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce’s High-Performing Educational Service Center designation for the 11th consecutive year.

The annual designation recognizes educational service centers that demonstrate cost savings for the school districts they serve. To qualify, an ESC must show total savings of at least 5% across five selected primary services compared with the cost of districts providing those services themselves or purchasing them from another provider.

For the 2026 designation cycle, all 51 of Ohio’s educational service centers received the recognition. Collectively, the centers reported more than $107 million in annual savings for their client school districts.

Ohio Valley ESC Superintendent Dalton Summers said the recognition reflects the organization’s continued commitment to efficiency, innovation and providing quality support to partner districts, educators and students throughout the Ohio Valley.

The Ohio Valley ESC provides a range of services to member school districts, including professional development, technology support, coaching, special education, preschool services, school improvement and administrative and operational assistance.

The services are intended to improve student learning, support instruction, expand access to educational resources and help school districts operate more efficiently.

The annual designation highlights the role educational service centers play in supporting Ohio schools through shared services, regional collaboration and cost savings.
