Noble County Commissioners Receive Water Tower, Veterans Day and Community Updates

CALDWELL, Ohio (AVC News) — Noble County officials provided updates to the commissioners on a new water tower, Veterans Day plans, emergency response activity, sales tax revenue and courthouse improvements.

Robert Bond, executive director of the Noble County Water Authority, reported on construction of a new water tower near Chaseville at the northern end of the county. Mid-Atlantic Storage Systems is the general contractor for the 70-foot tower, which will hold 80,000 gallons of water. Construction crews are pictured pouring concrete at the tower’s base.

Joseph Williams, Noble County veterans service officer, told commissioners this year’s Veterans Day service will be held on the east side of the courthouse along the esplanade. The location was selected to protect newly seeded grass on the courthouse’s other three sides.

The service is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 11, in Caldwell. It will begin at 10 a.m. with a parade. Jeff Minosky of the Noble County Business and Convention Bureau will serve as keynote speaker, presenting a history of 250 years of Noble County veterans.

Ed McKee, chief of the Belle Valley Volunteer Fire Department, reported that the department has responded to more than 280 calls this year. The department also has first responders who can assist with ambulance duties for Noble County Emergency Services.

Noble County Auditor Ruth Hayes presented a sales tax comparison showing the county collected $193,097.37 in October 2026, compared with $226,318.98 in October 2025.

Caldwell Village Administrator Nicole Cuthbertson told commissioners the courthouse revitalization project was scheduled for completion Friday, Oct. 30. Additional new benches are also expected to be placed on the courthouse lawn soon.
