Marilyn M. Ball, 86 of Canton, Ohio

Marilyn M. Ball, age 86, of Canton, Ohio, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Altercare Summit Acres in Caldwell. She was born August 14, 1940, in Genoa, Ohio, daughter of the late Clyde A. and Sarah E. Boyd McAtee. Marilyn was a 1958 graduate of Southern Noble High School at Dexter City. She was employed over the years as a clerk for the former Rinks store in Marietta and as a secretary for Judge John Hazzard in Caldwell. She attended the Trinity United Methodist Church in Canton, where she was a member of its United Methodist Women and church quilting circle. She was also involved with Perry Helping Perry, a community organization who helps residents in need. Marilyn enjoyed quilting and sewing, and she loved to travel with her husband, Junior, and taking girl trips with her friends. She loved her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Larry W. Sanford, who died in June, 2009; her second husband, Ernest Junior Ball, whom she married in 1986 and who died October 9, 2026; one brother, Frank Hupp; and a sister, Pearl McKnight.

Surviving are her children, Debbie (Tim) Schott of Caldwell, Connie (Clete) Richardson of Westerville, Jeff (Lisa) Sanford of Dexter City, and Ronnie (Marsha) Sanford of Macksburg; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, William (Jeanne) Hupp of Caldwell; a brother-in-law, Charles Ball; a sister-in-law, S. Charlene Archibald; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call Tuesday, October 13, 2026, from 11AM to 1PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 1PM with Rev. Tina Siroki officiating. Burial will follow at Dudley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church at www.trinityucc.com.
