
Ernest Junior Ball, 92 of Canton, Ohio
Ernest Junior Ball, age 92, of Canton, Ohio, passed away Friday, October 9, 2026, at Altercare Summit Acres in Caldwell. He was born August 10, 1934, in Gem, Ohio, son of the late Ernest Hubert and Emma Viola May Swain Ball. Junior was a 1956 graduate of Dexter City High School, and was a United States Army veteran, having served in Germany. He retired as a millwright for the Timken Company in Canton and was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. Junior enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he was a good storyteller. He loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Erlene F. Stewart Ball; his second wife, Marilyn M. McAtee Ball, who followed him in death October 10, 2026; and several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are his children, Michael Edward (Laura) Ball of New Philadelphia and Tamala Faye (Scott) Hart of Galion; his step-children, Debbie (Tim) Schott of Caldwell, Connie (Clete) Richardson of Westerville, Jeff (Lisa) Sanford of Dexter City, and Ronnie (Marsha) Sanford of Macksburg; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings, Charles W. Ball, Sr. of Caldwell, and S. Charlene Archibald; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be observed Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at 11AM at Sunset Hills Burial Park, 5001 Everhard Road NW in Canton with Rev. Tina Siroki officiating.
