Dale Mizer, 83 of Newcomerstown

Dale K. Mizer, 83 of Newcomerstown, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2026 at Community Hospice Truman House.

Dale was born August 1, 1943, in Stone Creek to the late Forest and Minnie (Doll) Mizer. Dale graduated from Newcomerstown High School in 1961, and on August 4, 1963 he married Karen (Mullet) who preceded him in death on October 19, 2013. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Newcomerstown. Dale was great at fixing things. He enjoyed salvaging vehicles, and was excellent at paint and body work. He was a great builder as well, and built the house his family lived in. He was a jack of all trades and there was nothing he couldn’t figure out. He loved NASCAR, and this was because he was a stock car racer himself in his earlier years, driving car #732. He loved going on motorcycle rides on his Goldwing. He co-owned and served as the maintenance man for several businesses with his late wife Karen, including Systems III, The Wagon Wheel Restaurant, Karen’s 50’s Café, the D&K Store, The Hilltop Store, and Karen’s New Figure Health Salon. In his spare time, he enjoyed doing puzzles, playing checkers, and playing euchre, and enjoyed square dancing with his wife Karen. He was a member of the Elks, the Moose Lodge, and the Lions Club. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his children Kathy (Duane) Wright, Teresa Lyons, and Daniel Mizer; his grandchildren Dustin (Megan) Watson, Kandace (Joshua) Lehman, Matthew (Ashlee) Watson, Trinity (Daniel) Canfield, Katie (Zach) Kohler, Dale (Payten Mallery) Lyons, Chelsea (Joel Moran) Mizer, and Matthew Burger; his great-grandchildren Kalista Watson, Zaiden Watson, Noah Canfield, Olivia Canfield, Abigail Lyons, Presley Lehman, Karley Lehman, William Lehman, Vincent Moran, and Lewis Watson.

Along with his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his loving wife Karen (Mullet) Mizer; his grandson Eddie Lyons III; his siblings Ellen Baker and Beatrice Roby; his son-in-law Ed Lyons II; and his daughter-in-law Annie Mizer.
