Bobby P. Smith, 72 of Zanesville

Bobby P. Smith, 72, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday October 4, 2026, at his home.
He was born on October 29, 1953, in Zanesville, Ohio, son of the late Raymond Smith and Edna (Adams) Smith. Bobby worked at Nelson McCoy for several years, Essex Wire, and Mayco Colors for 9 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and loved ones.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Julie (Lightfoot) Smith; 4 children: Chad (Samantha) Smith, Rob Smith, Kayla Smith, and Michele (Roger) Pletcher; grandchildren, Amara, Blake Thompson, Elijah Helmineck, Archie Thompson, Brittany Pletcher, Josh Pletcher, Zack Smith, Aslynn Smith; several great grandchildren; brothers, Kenny Smith and Marvin Smith; sister, Marlene Thompson; step children, Jennifer Thompson and Gary Thompson; niece, Kimmy Lang; favorite aide, Faith Wells; many other friends and family members.
In addition to his parents, Bobby is preceded in death by his brothers, David Smith and Donnie Smith; sister, Maxi Smith; sister-in-laws, Sandy Smith and Rose Smith; brother-in-law, Gary Thompson; and best buddy, Uncle Glen Lightfoot.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday October 8, 2026, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will be held at 6:00 PM with Chaplain Rebekah Stupakewicz officiating. A dignified cremation has been entrusted to DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home following services.
