Bettie Lou Price, 75 of Zanesville

Bettie “Bett” Lou Price (Kronenbitter), 75, passed away on October 8, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved her beyond measure and a lifetime of kindness that will never be forgotten.
Born March 31, 1951, to the late Alyce Josephine Kronenbitter and Richard Joseph Kronenbitter, Bett grew into the kind of woman whose life would touch far more people than she could have ever known.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary Lee Price; her parents, Alyce and Richard Kronenbitter; and her sister, Cheryl Batteiger.
Bett is survived by her two daughters, Jamie (Jeff) Swingle and Jodi (John) Paul; her grandchildren, Mariah Swingle, Matthew Paul, Wyatt Paul, and Kelsi Paul; and her great-grandchildren, Maci, Race, and Tatum.
She is also survived by her brother, John (Becky) Kronenbitter; her nieces and nephews and their children.
Bett worked as a records clerk for the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office, dedicating many years of service before retiring in 2020.
Those who knew her, however, know that Bett’s life could never be summed up by where she worked or the dates she lived.
To so many, she was simply “Mam.”
Mam was a name that extended far beyond her immediate family. Over the years, Mam opened her heart and her home to countless children and people who needed her. She spent much of her life helping to raise and care for children who were not biologically her own, loving them as if they were. To many of them, she became Mam, too. Family, to Mam, was never defined solely by blood. If she loved you, you were hers.
