ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio (AVC News) — An Oklahoma man was convicted of two counts of aggravated murder and one count of aggravated arson Thursday in the 2021 killings of Thomas and Angela Strussion at their Belmont County home.

Andrew Griffin, 34, of Whitesboro, Oklahoma, was found guilty following a seven-day jury trial in Belmont County Common Pleas Court, Ohio Attorney General Andy Wilson and Belmont County Prosecutor Kevin Flanagan announced.

Prosecutors alleged Griffin fatally shot the couple on Sept. 21, 2021, before setting their home on fire.

Griffin and Thomas Strussion had previously been business partners in the restaurant industry before Griffin was forced out of the partnership, according to prosecutors.

The jury deliberated for approximately four hours before reaching its unanimous verdict shortly after 2 p.m. Thursday.

Griffin is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 1 in Belmont County Common Pleas Court.

The Belmont County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case with assistance from the FBI and Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation. The Belmont County Prosecutor’s Office prosecuted the case with assistance from the Ohio Attorney General’s Special Prosecutions Section.

Wilson thanked the investigators, prosecutors and jurors involved in securing the convictions, including Chris Kinsler of the attorney general’s office.
