Music and Your Mind’s Eye: An Art & Music Collaboration
November 1 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
The Muskingum Valley Symphonic Winds kicks off its 34th season on Sunday, November 1 at 3 p.m. in Brown Chapel with “Music and Your Mind’s Eye: An Art & Music Collaboration.”
This concert is a collaboration between the departments of Art & Design and Music. Art & Design students of John Drubel have created abstract paintings based on listening to the repertoire being performed by the Symphonic Winds. The concert explores differences in listener responses to music. The musical works are drawn from numerous musical styles and time periods, each selected to inspire different visual imagery.
The student works will be for sale through a silent auction and will be displayed in the Palmer Gallery through the Senior Show when the silent auction ends.
The concert is free and there will be a light reception following the performance. We hope you can join us!
