CAMBRIDGE, Ohio (AVC News) — The Cambridge-Guernsey Community Improvement Corp. hosted its third annual Manufacturing Appreciation Luncheon on Oct. 20, bringing together nearly 90 representatives from manufacturing companies, allied industries, government and the local business community.
The event was held at the Pritchard Laughlin Civic Center as part of Manufacturing Month. Nicolozakes Trucking & Construction, Ohio Southeast Economic Development, Park National Bank and Zane State College sponsored the luncheon.
The program featured remarks from U.S. Rep. Troy Balderson, R-Ohio, who represents Ohio’s 12th Congressional District, and Ryan Augsburger, president of the Ohio Manufacturers’ Association.
Augsburger said more than 687,000 people are employed by Ohio manufacturers, making the state the nation’s third-largest manufacturing state.
The luncheon is part of the CIC’s Manufacturing Council Program, which brings local manufacturing companies together for three breakfast meetings each year featuring informational presentations and networking opportunities.
OhioMeansJobs Guernsey County coordinates the program with the CIC. Zane State College hosted the council’s meetings at the Willett-Pratt Training Center in Cambridge.
