Toby Stephen, 57 of Newcomerstown

Toby Alan Stephen, 57, of Newcomerstown, passed away on Tuesday October 20, 2026 at Aultman Hospital in Canton, OH.

Toby was born on December 1, 1968, in Coshocton to John V. Stephen of Newcomerstown and the late Karen Sue (Ludwig) Barcus.

Toby was a 1987 graduate of Newcomerstown High School and went on to work in the HVAC industry. He loved playing foosball with big groups of friends and loved and collected RC Cars. He really enjoyed hiking and sightseeing in the canyonlands of Colorado and Utah. Toby was a big animal lover and had a huge heart.

He is survived by his daughter Arika Paige Stephen (fiancé Jordan Tipton); his grandson, Trennon Pierce Martin; his sister, Kate (Eric) Christner; his aunt, Lynn (Dan) Davis; his uncle, Bill (Connie) Ludwig; two nieces, Brionna and Karen; nephew, Connor; a cousin, Jen Jovanovic; two great friends, Bill Segalavich and Angela Green; and his dog, Tuco.

Along with his mother, he is preceded in death by his sister, Kris Barcus; maternal grandparents, Bill and Fern Ludwig; paternal grandparents, John and Mary Stephen; his longtime dog, Manny.

A caring cremation will take place and keeping with Toby’s wishes, his remains will be scattered at Needles Overlook outside of Moab, Utah.
