CALDWELL, Ohio (AVC News) — Constance Archer resigned as president of the Noble Local School District Board of Education at the conclusion of the board’s regular meeting Thursday, Oct. 15, ending more than 10 years of service.

Archer said she had taken her role seriously throughout her 10 1/2 years on the board and expressed gratitude to the people who trusted her to serve.

She said her decision was driven by a desire to devote more time and energy to her family as her children grow older.

Superintendent Justin Denius praised Archer’s contributions, calling her a rock on the board and saying she was a major reason for the district’s progress.

During the meeting, Denius also provided an update on future projects included in the district’s master improvement plans for Shenandoah schools.

Plans include expanding the elementary school parking lot to add approximately 100 spaces and constructing an auxiliary gymnasium next to the existing gym. Denius said the additional gym space would allow for more physical education classes, practices and games at the elementary school.

In other business, the board approved a $1,000 bonus for all certified employees in November, excluding the superintendent and treasurer.

The board approved Dan Liedtke, Christopher Neal and Thomas Fannin as substitute teachers; Carlee Blind as a substitute secretary; and Tori Endly as a substitute food service employee.

The Switzerland of Ohio Polled Hereford Association received approval to use Green Acres Farm on Saturday, Oct. 24. Noble County Extension, Noble County Soil and Water Conservation District, and Ag Navigator were also approved to use the farm for Beyond the Barn, Farm Manager Day, on Saturday, Nov. 7.

Shenandoah High School’s Senior Citizens Thanksgiving Meal is scheduled for Nov. 18 from 3 to 9 p.m.
