Melodie L. Taylor, 73 of Zanesville

Melodie L. Taylor, 73, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 14, 2026, at the Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville.
She was born on September 21, 1953, in Zanesville, Ohio, daughter of the late Stephen Basalla and Lizz (Ellison) Basalla. Melodie worked at the Muskingum County Library for roughly 30 years in Tech. She enjoyed collecting angels, tinkering on the internet, and playing games on her tablet.
Melodie is survived by her husband, Jeff Taylor; 3 children: Jason (Jane) Miller, Jeremy (Carla) Miller, and Brenda Bruce; brother, Randy (Paula) Basalla; sister, Janice (Dave) Fluharty; grandchildren, Dalton Miller, Mckenzie Miller, Brook Brady, Zander Miller, Hazel Miller, Brittanie (Dakota) Gibbons, Brandon (Ashley) Bruce, Robbie (Kimberly Poland) Bruce, Elizabeth Bruce; great grandchildren, Kylen, Makenna, Mackenlee, David, Karlee, Aeva, Brialee, Jasper; nephews, Chris Fluharty and Heath Fluharty, Dustin Basalla, Johnathan Basalla.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Keith Basalla.
A dignified cremation has been entrusted to DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home.
