Myrna Virginia Borrer Carson, of Caldwell, Ohio
As the sun dawned on September 30, 2026, Myrna Virginia Borror Carson breathed her final breath and passed into the heavenlies. The sky was brighter as her spirit met the One who created her and welcomed her home to paradise. Myrna was an artist, a 70s rebel with a cause, a peacemaker, a gardener, and a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She believed in kindness, stood up for those treated unfairly, and found beauty in the simplest things. The stars shone a little brighter the day Myrna was born in Smithboro, Illinois, to Louis and Lorena Borror on July 14, 1948. She was one of nine children and loved her large family dearly. She often shared stories of the joyful times she spent with her sisters, Alice and Phyllis, her brothers, Bob, Larry, Johnny, and Jim, and nieces Paulette, Birdie, and Charlotte, and nephew, Jackie. She remembered chickens and pets, childhood adventures, and, most of all, the love she felt when she was surrounded by her family. As a teenager in Arizona, Myrna met her first husband, Ramon Julian Yniguez. Together they had three children: Renee Yniguez Cotton, Denice Yniguez LaRue, and Julian Yniguez. Her children were the joys of her life, and her world revolved around them. She taught them to read, taught them to stand up for people, and showed them what compassion looked like—not only toward people, but toward animals as well.
Myrna was a woman of conviction. She believed in standing up for what was right and had little tolerance for unfairness, bullying, or cruelty. She lent her artistic talents to painting anti-war signs and used her creativity as a way to express what she believed. She was never afraid to care deeply.
On December 15, 1975, Myrna married Donald Carson. Together, block by block, they built the house that would become her home for nearly 50 years. It was more than a house; it became the place where generations of family gathered and where memories were made. She continued to paint and garden. A left-hander, Myrna was also a softball pitcher and enjoyed being active. But one of her favorite roles was being in the stands. She attended her children’s sporting events, band performances, or drama activities. She was a fixture there—watching, cheering, and being present for the people she loved.
Her grandchildren, Wesley Yniguez, Brittany Yniguez, Adam Yniguez, Laurisha Cotton, Drew Cotton, and a bonus granddaughter, Sydney LaRue, were treasures in her treasure box. They spent many summers together at Camp Carson in Ohio, the Outer Banks in North Carolina, and Disney World, creating memories that have lasted beyond childhood. Myrna cherished each of her grandchildren, loved them unconditionally, and was proud of every one of them. Each carries a piece of her heart, along with her love of animals and her belief that kindness matters. Myrna was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren, whom she adored: Benjamin Yniguez, Austin Yniguez, Izabella Yniguez, Kinley Yniguez, Luka Yniguez, Letty, Yniguez, Kenna Hayes, Felix Taylor, and special niece, Patricia Moody. They, too, carry forward a piece of her kind and generous spirit.
Welcoming Myrna into heaven are her husband, Donald Carson; her first husband, Ramon Yniguez; and her beloved brothers and sisters, Rose Wetnight, Jim Borror, Robert Borror, John Borror, Claire Chippini, and her very special sister Phyllis Borror Self, with whom she shared a bond that was more than sisterhood—a lifetime friendship.
Her family and friends will deeply miss her gentle smile, her witty charm, her beautiful artistic handwriting, the music she loved, and the perfumes that will forever remind them of her. They will miss the woman who could make a home feel like home, who saw beauty in the world, who loved fiercely, and who believed that every living thing deserved kindness Specialt hanks to her caregivers: Corrina, Lucia, Monica, Debbie, Penny, and her beloved Gracie.Hospice family: Chanel, Kris, Kerry, Kyla, Mary Ruth, Cortney, and Suzy. Lastly, her neighbor Susie Reed, who was always willing to help the family.
