David E. Ross, 84 of Zanesville

David Earl Ross, 84 of Zanesville, died 11:22 PM, Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Genesis Morrison House Hospice. He was born Saturday, January 31, 1942, in Zanesville, the son of Lewis R. Ross and Sarah Lucille (Riggle) Ross. He married Judy C. (DeVolld) Ross on Sunday, June 14, 1964.

Dave was co-owner and operator of Ross IGA Stores for many years. He served as a member, and Past-President of the Zanesville Jaycees; was a member, and former officer of the Sertoma Club; was a member of the East Central Ohio Food Dealers, and the Ohio Grocers Association. Dave was an active, and dedicated member of Central Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder, Trustee and Deacon. Dave was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his family, especially his grandchildren. He never me a stranger, and was an animal lover.

Dave is survived by his wife: Judy Ross: one daughter: Michelle (Matthew) Scott of Zanesville; one son: Michael (Carolyn) Ross of Zanesville; five grandchildren: Clay (Allison) Scott, Sarah (fiancée’ Travis Johnston) Scott; Luke (Olivia Bouchard) Scott, Kiley (Logan) Williams and David (Teresa) Ross; several great grandchildren, Jase Montgomery, Evelyn Ross, Stetson Scott, Noah Ross, and McCoy Williams; one sister-in-law, Gail DeVolld of Florida, and one sister-in-law, Sharon Ross.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Ross and his brother-in-law: Robert DeVolld.

Friends may call Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM, at the Hillis Combs Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 PM, at the funeral home, with Mary Perone officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park.
