David D.C. Jones, 79 of Byesville, Ohio

David D.C. Jones, age 79, of Byesville, Ohio, died Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at The Beckett House in New Concord. He was born December 18, 1946, in Noble County, Ohio, son of the late B. Davey “Pappy” and Lucille M. Lorey Jones. David was a 1965 graduate of Shenandoah High School and he was a United States Army veteran, having served in Vietnam. He retired as an over-the-road truck driver. He enjoyed horses in his younger years. David enjoyed motorcycles and classic cars, especially his 1961 Corvette, and he enjoyed attending car shows. He was a member of the Belle Valley American Legion Post #641 and the Caldwell VFW Post #4721. David was Baptist by faith.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Paulette Walters.

Surviving are his wife, Anna Lynn Modock Jones, whom he married in 1983; his daughter, Georgianna (Scott) Parsons of Cambridge; his step-son, James Derek (Charity) Mitchell of Clay City, Illinois; two grandchildren, Jake (Sophie) Parsons and Cole Parsons (Camryn Gebhart); one great-grandchild, Emme Parsons; his siblings, Dorothy Foreman of Caldwell, Betsy (Bud) Coler of Hiramsburg, Barbara Jones of Cambridge, Paul (Jane) Jones of Caldwell, Jerry (Charlene) Jones of Cumberland, and Jim (Shari) Jones of Belle Valley; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 3-7PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Sunday, August 9th at 1:30PM.
