NEW LEXINGTON, Ohio (AVC News) — Perry County Sheriff’s Deputies executed a search warrant on December 31, 2024, at a residence located at 402 E. Walnut Street in Shawnee. The warrant was obtained following reports of stolen property and individuals with active warrants at the address.
During the search, deputies seized multiple items associated with drug use and arrested Gerald Hedges of Shawnee on an outstanding warrant for felonious assault. Hedges was transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail and is awaiting a court appearance.
The investigation also provided information aiding other law enforcement agencies. Athens County Sheriff’s Deputies recovered stolen property tied to Perry County, while an investigation involving the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office remains ongoing.
Charges related to the items and evidence discovered during the search are pending.
